Euro vs dollar : If you are reading this page, then I am
very flattered as it is
only about me -
sorry - I would have thought you might have had enough of my picture
over the last few pages!
As some of you may know, I am a full time currency trader who works from home and I developed all these sites as I wanted to try and help new and even experienced traders learn about various aspects of trading an investing in a variety of markets.
I am completely self taught, partly by trial and error, but mainly through a great deal of reading, lots of practice and losing money!- yes unfortunately we all have to lose money in order to learn more quickly.
A short story to illustrate the point. When I first started, like many new traders I began trading shares, and the first one ( which you always remember) was a company called Marconi. Now for those of you who don't know, this was one of the largest manufacturers in the security and defence sectors, making everything from weapons systems for jet fighters, to telecoms equipment for international companies worldwide. A huge blue chip company with vast reserves of cash in the bank. What could go wrong?
I bought 1000 shares at £5.50 and watched over the next 12 months as they sank to £1.00. Finally 18 months later the company went into receivership, and the shares were then trading at 2p. I gave them to charity.
Lesson number one was learned the hard way - always protect your trading capital with a stop loss - it will keep you in the game. Since then I have traded all sorts of instruments and markets including futures, options, currency and derivatives.
I live in the UK and am currently writing a book on Forex Trading, as I believe there is a lack of common sense advice for new traders in this market - so you never know, you may see my face smiling back at you from a bookshop one day!
